Logistics Management
Managing the flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption is one of our most critical functions. In order to meet the requirements of all clients, LMZ's logistics team offers superior services relating to all aspects of transportation.
Logistical services include:
- Production and shipment management from origin
- Material and package handling
- Product security from the manufacturing plant to the point of consumption
- The most reliable and competitive rates for all modes of transportation: ocean, air, rail, and road
- Compliance with all US regulatory requirements through close relationships with US Customs and Border Protection, US Department of Homeland Security and the FDA
- Inventory handling for products warehoused on the East, West and Gulf coasts and in Chicago, in line with client needs
- Order tracking
- Expediting "rush" orders, leveraging our relationships with major carriers (air and road) to meet even the most challenging requirements
- Order history analysis to assist with forecasting of customers' future requirements
- As required, offering customs entries, warehousing and door delivery outside the US, including Asia and Europe
Product Research and Development
LMZ gives clients a competitive advantage because the R&D department is continually exploring product options — an added-value which has become a trademark for the firm. This may range from developing extensions or improvements to existing products to developing totally new product concepts.
We are able to leverage our coffee research and development resources around the world, in concert with our in-house experience and expertise, to develop and source for any retail or bulk requirement and provide clients with the opportunity for market advantage.
Origination
Each geographic region has its own characteristics in terms of climate, soil, growing conditions and manufacturing heritage, impacting the types and forms of coffee that can be best produced. Our relationships with suppliers in primary coffee-producing countries, and knowledge of those suppliers' facilities and particular competencies enables us to identify the optimum source of supply and method of manufacture, bringing to market virtually every type of soluble coffee-based product, in line with client needs.
Packaging
We have an exceptional team of packaging experts at our disposal, skilled in identifying the most effective and efficient means of presenting product. This ranges from bulk to packed product, in numerous formats and configurations. This capability, often in coordination with our logistics teams, has significantly enhanced the value we bring to our clients' businesses.
